Susan Dalgety is senior international development communications professional, with extensive experience at the highest level. She has worked with Challenges Worldwide since June 2011.
Susan specialises in sub-Saharan Africa with a particular focus on Malawi and has an interest in economic development, governance and gender. She is also currently working on training programmes with the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus in Ethiopia and Malawi.
She is also an adviser to Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale, who was First Minister of Scotland from 2001-2007. During this period Ms Dalgety was Chief Press Officer to the First Minister, then Head of International Communications.
She enjoyed a term of office as deputy leader of the City of Edinburgh Council in the 1990s, followed by five years as chief writer for the Edinburgh Evening News. She still writes occasionally for the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday.
